Cloaking

Cloaking is the process of selecting what content to display depending on who is looking.

More specifically in relation to SEO, it is the process of providing extra fully optimised text content if the user looking is a search engine robot. This is a method often used by sites that are graphic heavy with little text content for search engines. However, it is extremely unethical and it will get any site that uses it banned from search engine indices in time.

We fully discourage any site from using cloaking, and we will not work on any site where cloaking is active or a requirement.

However, seeing as other sites being banned helps us in the long run, and in the interests of fair play and democracy, we will shortly be providing a tutorial of how to cloak for anyone disbelieving enough who wants to use it.

There are few hats blacker than a cloakers'. You have been warned.
