Cold Fusion
Cold Fusion
Cold Fusion is a server-side coding language.
This means that the server can dynamically alter the resulting web pages before thay are sent across the Internet to the browser. This is a common way of generating website from database content.
Cold Fusion is named after the holy grail of nuclear energy, which will provide considerable cheap energy if ever made possible. Currently, nuclear fusion requires more effort to cause it to happen than the benefit that you get out. Somebody at Macromedia obviously had a sense of humour thinking up that name.
Different, but conceptually similar coding languages include ASP, dotNet, JSP and PHP.
