Folksonomy - Web-based, human-tagged labelling
A folksonomy is a web based labelli9ng system, common to social networking communities. Users tag web pages, links and photographs with works that categorise them, creating a human-edited taxonomy of electronic data.
Two examples of folksonomic tagging sites are Del.icio.us and Flickr, although to a lesser extent sites such as YouTube offer limited folksonomic style tagging.
One feature of true foloksonomies is the ability to see who has tagged an item as something, and tho then choose to view other items that user has tagged.
