Better options for searching newly indexed pages

Google has updated its algorithm to search pages by the date they where first indexed. The way it works is you go into advanced search options in Google and set how long ago you want to display newly indexed pages, i.e. days, months and years. This can be useful for a multitude of things, checking the latest news articles or seeing how quickly Google is picking up your new pages. Although it shows new pages in the last X days, months, years it wont show pages that have been updated or changed which it has already indexed, for example if you changed the Content of your homepage completely in the last month Google in this situation won't list the page for a 'one month ago' search because it already had the physical page in its index.

The parameter in the search bar is as_qdr and has three pretty self explanatory following parameters; d=X, m=X, y=X. So in a search it would look something like in the search string &as_qdr=m2 i.e. all the new urls in this search indexed in the last two months. The original system for attempting this was too difficult for most people to be bothered with as well as the fact the shortest time of indexing it was possible to display was 3 months, but now due to Google's faster indexing systems and general improvements it is now possible to have results for the previous day.
