Yet More Google Expansion Rumours

3D gaming from Google?

Ye gods there has been a lot of murmur these last couple weeks, now there is a new possibility of yet another expansion except this one is being kept exclusive to a single large group of people, Arizona State University to be exact. Pretty much a normal day for them until they found a different homepage set that says 'that a major Internet company' will be running, testing and improving a piece of software at the university until they’re satisfied enough to launch it. The student scrolls down to find a questionnaire to fill in, and this is where the Google connection comes in one of the questions was 'Do you have a GMail account?' and then one of the options asks if you would be interested in getting one. Suspect methinks, but no actual proof that its Google has appeared in the public domain as far as I'm aware it's just highly probable since they've become very ambitious recently.

The program itself seems to have something to do with gaming, or something with some form of sprite/avatar at least; the homepage itself has 3D guy standing there asking 'Are you into 3D modelling, video gaming, etc.? Do you have a virtual avatar? If so click here...” so what's the general opinion? Think Google's planning on making a Halo smasher as well? Although I personally respect Google's expansions and think that the company's definitely going up in the world, I don't think it would try its hand at serious computer gaming just yet especially because of the seriously competitive and scrupulous market. There's a possibility that it is something to add onto Orkut, some kind of 3D chat thing to add on to their Social Networking site to meet new people - if that isn't a good idea I don't know what is. So we're all just gonna have to wait on that one but keep an eye out for Galo 3 in the future.
