I was shown this at work this morning and it seems worth a quick mention, Zyb is a mobile-to-web integration social network (get a mouthful of that!) that allows you to connect to your friends via your mobile's phone book. Once signed up you confirm your mobile number and then back your contact list up on the net, once uploaded it will search through the numbers for people whose personal number is on your list (friends of yours that have also signed up)and connect you as a friend with that person it will then search through other numbers and look for other people who have the same contact in their list and give you the option to look at their profile; so basically you see the 'mutual friends'. You can edit and mess around with other things such as your phones calender and your online profile and pictures, to my understanding it is also possible to download your online phone book onto your real phone which would be a great benefit if you where switching phones. This is an interesting idea and as far as I'm aware is the first of its kind to use the phone book to connect you with friends, it has good potential to take off but as a social network it lacks interesting features. They do however seem quite proud and upfront about their security which as I'm sure is something you would want from a mobile network site considering your trusting the site with all your personal numbers. Well worth a look.
